Out and About with Mr Hopkins (27.9.24)

All of our classes have been out into the countryside now and we have had a great time working towards our John Muir Award.
Most of the classes have visited Pule Hill which is a great place to learn about a bit of history with the railway tunnel and the quarry that we get to explore.
It is also a great trip to see how our pupils react to different challenges in a safe environment such as scrambling, small spaces and climbing. It is great to see pupils helping and encouraging each other and everyone having ago at most of the challenges.
Here are just a selection of the pictures I got when I had chance!

Miss Bachelor's class also got to visit Middle Black Clough waterfall as their second visit. A great place with 'easy' and 'hard' routes to follow depending on what each pupil wants to challenge themselves with. Only a few photos here as I was too busy handling the challenges with the all the pupils!!!!

Mr Atkins' class also went out on a learning trip to Smithfields farm in the week. It was great seeing the pupils positively interact with each other and build relationships as a new class. We went to see and learn about lots of different animals, walked around the working farm watching the staff there tend to the animals, went on a tractor ride to feed the donkey's and then went to the pets corner to be able to stroke and hold some of the farm animals. Everyone was amazing and we all learned a huge amount, well done!
